Employer and Community Organization Registration
Workforce Solutions Panhandle, in partnership with the City of Amarillo, is hosting a job fair to connect employers and community organizations with workers affected by the Tyson Fresh Meats layoff.
The event will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Amarillo Civic Center, North Exhibit Hall. Participation is at no cost.
About the Talent Pool
Workers impacted by the Tyson Fresh Meats layoff bring a strong range of transferable skills, including experience in:
- Production and manufacturing
- Maintenance and equipment operation
- Warehousing and logistics
- Food safety and quality control
- Operations and team-based work environments
Many individuals have experience working in fast-paced, safety-focused settings and are prepared to transition into manufacturing, distribution, skilled trades, transportation, and related industries.
Language Access and Recruitment
Tyson Fresh Meats employs a highly diverse workforce, with many languages spoken at the plant, including:
- English
- Spanish
- Burmese
- Karen
- Pashto
- Vietnamese
To ensure effective communication and meaningful connections, employers are strongly encouraged to send bilingual recruiters or staff whenever possible. Doing so will improve engagement and hiring outcomes with affected workers.
Event Logistics
- Tables and chairs will be provided at no cost
- Employers and community organizations only need to bring recruitment materials and signage
- This event is open to hiring employers and organizations providing supportive services to affected workers
