Job Title: Career Specialist
Office Hours: 8AM to 5PM. Non-exempt. In-Person. Location available for Amarillo, TX or Borger, TX
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs case management and customer outreach is responsible for providing comprehensive career services and support to individuals seeking employment, which may include those eligible for unemployment benefits, eligible adult and/or youth under the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), and ReSEA (Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment) programs. This role focuses on helping clients develop career plans, improve employability, and secure meaningful employment opportunities through personalized case management, training, and job placement assistance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Career counseling and case management
- Interviews and assessing applicants to determine appropriate individual service strategy and employment plan.
- One-on-one career counseling to job seekers, assessing skills, interests, and career goals. Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISP) based on client needs, including career pathways, training, and job placement strategies.
- Offer continuous case management and support to help clients overcome barriers to employment, such as lack of skills, transportation, childcare, or limited work experience.
- Provide coaching on job search strategies, resume building, interview preparation, and job readiness.
- Verifies eligibility with an exceptional degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conducts appropriate case management for participants, such as periodic monitoring, evaluation and counseling, maintains comprehensive case management notes, and conducts follow-up as required.
- Monitor client progress, track outcomes, and provide regular follow-up to ensure successful reemployment or career advancement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Successful applicants should have the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Work experience in case management, social service programs, employment, or training is required.
- Possess demonstrated proficiency in both verbal and written communications, basic computer skills, and following specific guidelines.
- One or more years of experience in facilitating group orientations and job search skills workshops.
- Ability to occasionally travel locally using personal vehicle

Job Title: Provider Services Specialist – Mentor
Office Hours: 8AM to 5PM. Non-exempt. In-Person, travelling locally. Location available for Amarillo, TX
JOB SUMMARY:
The Texas Rising Star Mentor is responsible for assisting child care and early learning programs with all processes related to participation in the Texas Rising Star (TRS) program. Serve as a liaison with the Child Care Regulation Division. Will also work collaboratively and cooperatively with all staff of the One-Stop Center System.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides technical assistance and coaching support to assist child care and early learning programs in attaining, maintaining, and improving Texas Rising Star certification status
- Provides consultation in the development and implementation of the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan (CQIP) and regularly reviews each program’s plan with the director
- Models best practices and provides constructive feedback for program directors and teachers
- Delivers targeted and individualized training
- Refers programs to other helpful resources and training
- Assists child care and early learning programs with improving their level of quality through ongoing assessment, self-reflection, coaching, and tailored technical assistance
Successful applicants should have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science OR
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science with at least 12 credit hours in child development OR
- An associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science AND two years of suitable experience in early childhood education as determined by the Board. Suitable experience in early childhood may include, but is not limited to:
- Working in a child care and early learning program;
- Providing early childhood coaching or mentoring;
- Owning or operating a child care and early learning program; and
- Teaching college coursework in early childhood
- Must have and maintain valid Texas driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation
